hello is there a copy of minicom or equivalent for unixware 7?

Look for a program named kermit. Also there were programs like xmodem, zmodem. If you don't already have one of these I don't know where you would find it in this day and age. But most OS's had some utility included to access the serial port.

Unixware comes with cu and uucp. There was a version of ecu available 20 years ago. Kermit is still available here C-Kermit Binaries

I had forgotten about cu. That would be an excellent choice.
