LV without Paging Space

Hello dear friends, We have VG filevg which consists of 2 PVs when I rechecked the VG there is no Pagingspace LV.. The VG is usually Highly loaded because much reads and writes.. Is this a must to create Paging space on the specified LV?

No, Paging space is used by the system for all tasks, not tasks associated with a specific disk.

In olden times when memory was very expensive Paging Space was used as an extra portion of memory for processes. Now a days you want to avoid using paging space of at all possible as it slows the application down unnecessarily.

If you have a lot of reads and writes to the one VG you may wish to compose the VG of multiple disks or LUNs and stripe the data across those to get more disk heads accessing your data.
