Is it possible to move a directory using ftp service??

Not really. use tar on the remote node to create a tar archive. Before I waste our time

  • what OS are talking about here (remote and local)?
  • can you login to the remote box?

It is possible to rename a directory with the ftp "rename" command.
Not sure if this is what you mean by "move a directory".
