Installing Linux Read Hat 9

How to Install my Linux Red Hat 9 at my Pentium 2?

I need steps.

Insert CD1 into your drive, reboot, follow the instructions on the screen.

the first,you need become calm.
second,format your one disk partition for ext3.you need one swap partition.if your memory is 256M,you need 500M swap partition.if you need two system,you must install windows xp or win2k in the first place.you use partitionmagic divide one new disk partition.it need 5GB.format it for ext3.the end,insert cd1 to cdrom.haha,ok.my english is poor.

  1. Understand what are you going to do with linux.

  2. Decide what program will you going to use.

  3. Decide the partition for different directory.

  4. Read Menu from RH or Internet or bookstore. (Border and BN, which is your favorite?)

  5. Begin to install.

        go on;
else
        go back to step 4;

A reminder just in case you will be using this machine in a critical production environment:

RedHat will stop supporting RedHat 9.0 tomorrow ( Linux capitalism is getting closer and closer...)
They will continue supporting the Enterprise edition and the Fedora Project.

Has anyone acutually used their support before? Just curious.
