Installing CGI

Use and complete the template provided. The entire template must be completed. If you don't, your post may be deleted!

  1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data:

The objective of this project is to learn how to configure the apache web server. The goal is to make cgi work on the webserver that we just installed.

  1. Relevant commands, code, scripts, algorithms:

httpd.conf file

  1. The attempts at a solution (include all code and scripts):

I've looked at the httpd.conf file and researched on apache.org, but have had very little success and my instructor is very unwilling to hep at all.

  1. Complete Name of School (University), City (State), Country, Name of Professor, and Course Number (Link to Course):

University of Illinois, O'Reilly School of Technology, Kelly Hoover, Unix 1: The Unix file system

Note: Without school/professor/course information, you will be banned if you post here! You must complete the entire template (not just parts of it).

Please help! I have absolutely no idea how to do this and have done a lot of legwork on apache's website and other sites trying to understand how to do this, but I'm not having success. My instructor refuses to give any help other than restate the question again and again, so I really appreciate feedback. Thanks!

Well, if this doesn't help, where is the problem?

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I'm really new to unix and don't know a lot about it. I looked at that article, but it was a bit over my head. Do you have any suggestions on how to tackle this problem? Perhaps a better article?

hmmm, this has nothing to do with Unix at all. Configuration of Apache under Windows would be quite the same.

Can you tell me what CGI is? Maybe it is a case of misunderstanding what is talked about.

You are asking a vague and mostly useless question, to which only vague answers can be given.

What, exactly, is apache not doing which you would like it to be doing?
