Here is my conundrum . I am unable to access my cd or dvd
after I supposedly alter the BIOS setting to enable a "Live"
CD or DVD to be used.
Would ,changing the Hard Drive or Motherboard remedy the situation.

Does the cd or dvd actually work hardware-wise? The average life span of these devices is astoundingly short given how little they have to do.
I am unable to use neither the CD or DVD .It appears that they are not recognised on boot-up ;even though I tried to alter the BIOS. Sometimes the "Samsung " CD tray opens.
