Is it possible to check progress when replace a faulty disk without reboot server? OS is RHEL 5. Please advice.

Is it manufactured by LSI?
If so, search for "lsiutil". If it does work with your RAID controller, be very careful using it. You can brick your controller and lose all your data if you start exploring the various options trying to find out what they do.
