I am a student and I love the computer very much ,
especially in programming. However I know little about
programming .
I don't know which I should learn (JAVA and C++).
Would you like to give me a suggestion ?

C++ seems to be one that is most widely used for many unix applications.
I suppose it all comes down to what you want to do.
I would start with C++. Java is kind of known as a daughter language of C++.
be aware though that ( in my experience at least ) some schools are moving away from c++ classes in favor of java.... some how they think that java is a 'hot new thing' haha :o

Listen, if you know a bit of programming in C and need to program unix-type operating systems the next transitive stage is for sure C++. However, have in mind that Java is like learning C but 99% object-oriented(o.o.) and with no pointers or memory-management tricks. It would be good for you to see and from this direction. Afterall, if you are interested in o.o. Java is for you.
In the end is what you really need most or interested in.

I'm very happy that I've got such excellent suggestions .I believe that the two are both excellent . I planed to study one first , then the other(because I love both of them). What I should do now is just studying one of them hard .
