Why a "script" ? In its simplest form, this is a simple one-line command. Do you have any CLI (command line interface) experience whatsoever ?
Why not use a graphical file manager, if a command is proving difficult ? If you have a window manager working, there should be an icon to launch an appropriate tool.
Are there any special features of this problem that complicate it ? For example, files arrive automatically at various times, they have unusual names or special characters, they are compressed, ...
You might type man -s 1 mv
at the command prompt, and read what it can do.
