  1. Should be encrypted
  2. Minimum length of 8 characters

Go to http://docs.hp.com and click "HP-UX 11.0 Operating System". Scroll down to "Managing Systems and Workgroups, A Guide for HP-UX System Administrators", and click the html link. Scroll the left hand side down to "Administering a System: Managing System Security" and click the plus sign. Now scroll down to "Trusted System Security". Read that and "Setting Up Your Trusted System" and "Managing Trusted Passwords and System Access".

Computer Associates has a product named eTrust Access Control, almost all items can be fixed using this program. Just finished the install at 5 of our hp 11.00 servers. If you need a Unix security person, here I am, still available :slight_smile:
