Hello, what are the names for the Sistem Error logs of HP-UX?
I have got the error "Volume group has some stale or unavailable physical volumes." Nothing more to the error, except date and time!!
Checked all the Logical Volumes (lvdisplay -v), and all the Physical Volumes (pvdisplay -v) and there conexiones and all are "current", but the error appears every now and then . (Also did a vgdisplay -v and all is fine.)
Thing is I am a newbee and I do not know the names of the Sistem error logs or where I can find them to try and pin point the problem.
The path to the system log on HP-UX is /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log
You will want to take a look in here as well.
/etc/opt/resmon/log/
You will want to dig around in /etc/lvmtab and compare your disk info between the various sources. Have you by chance broken a mirror on root? maybe removed mirrorux?
Regards,
Aaron
Hi,
To tell you the truth what is mirrorux
And no mirrors have been removed.
Thanx for the response.
Its just the mirroring package for HPUX:) if a mirror has been broken and not remirrored I have seen it get stuck as stale.
try a vgscan -p -v and see what it comes back with.
Do not run that command with a "-a" until you are sure you want it to rebuild your lvmtab.
