HP iLO virtual serial port

Greetings All,

If someone/anyone reading this post has had success setting up and configuring HP iLO2 CLI virtual serial port for Solaris...please tell how.

I'm trying to get a remote console to an HP DL385 server via iLO2 and ssh. The server is running Solaris 10 (11/06), patched to 127112-11, and has the HPQilo package installed along with HPQhealth, HPQhma, and HPQsmh.

So far I've been able to ssh to the server and establish a CLI session with iLO2 but when I try to invoke virtual serial port I get the following:

At this point the session freezes and the only way to get out is to kill the ssh session or login to iLO2 via the web interface and force a disconnect.

I've tried changing the iLO2 virtual serial port from the default COM2 to COM1 but had no luck there either.

I've not yet called HP but it looks like that may be my next step. I'm up for suggestions/comments you may have.

v/r,
