system is not booting ... i want to restore from mksysb backup.

First analysis why your system is not booting.it may be because of your hardware failure. in such case mksysb restore wont help you.
>in which media you are having mksysb image?
> are you usin NIM in your env.?
Call IBM support seems to be the appropriate action.
