How to open a .DAT video file in LINUX

 Hai guys!!!!

I am using Mandrake Linux 10.1 with Intel P4 system..

I don't know how to open .DAT video file in LINUX.

Please help me!

Open, as in, what? Edit? Play? Copy? I'll guess you mean play. It's not obvious what a .dat is, so could you tell me the output of running 'file whatever.dat' where whatever.dat is of course your .dat file..

There are lots of video players in Linux; mplayer, xine, vlc, and then there's all the WM-specific ones. If you have any of those, you can run them like 'mplayer something.dat' to see if they support whatever your .dat is.
