how to access a windows shared drive from HPUX?

Dear Unix Gurus,

I am very very new to UNIX.

Apreciate your advice/guidence on the following.

I have a HPUX machine and i want to copy some files from this machines to a windows shared drive.

I am not sure how to go about it.

To my little knowledge i think it is not straight forward. And i understand that i need to go through some procedures like mounting and etc.

Pls advice me how to go about doing this. A step by step guidence would be really helpful as i am novice to UNIX platform,

Hi,

maybe winscp would be helpfull for you? Download Winscp on your windows box. ( You can get it on the internet for free )
After that start winscp and connect as the user on your unix box who owns the files which you want to copy.

Seems pretty easy to me...

Setup a UNIX account, or use an existing one, on the unix host with a shell password then ftp from the windows box... voila!!!

CuteFTP works as well if you need a 3rd party product to make it easier.

samba is also another option for accessing windows shares from your unix box.
