Hello everyone.
We have a environment where we have DS8K storage and ES800 storage, the way to check to which storage the box is connected is using the LUN ID I get frm " pcmpath query device " command.
for ex:
75CXX - DS8K storage
26860 - ES 800 Storage
I was told to check this way to find onto which storage u r connected, my question is there a command which gives us the info onto which type of storage we are connected to.... In my case its IBM storage all the way what if the storage is Hitachi or Brocade or EMC ...etc..how do I knw...
Rgds,

Normaly you have to have a look at the disks
lscfg -vlp hdiskxx
this should be done on any disk that you need to find out

Ravager .. this gives me the manufacturer which is fine ... but as mentioned proviously ... I would like to knw the type of storage box I am connected to ... for ex IBM have shark storage ....... the command gives me that its a IBM manufacurer but it doesn't show me that its a shark storage.
Why I need this info..... I have environment where there are lot of diff types storage boxes connected to the AIX server or cluster servers... I want to knw to the type of the storage I am connected to....
