How can we know that the server was rebooted by which user in hp unix and linux.

You cant really, you can find some explanations in files like syslog.log etc..
Just to show:
from /etc/shudownlog:

19:40 Mon Dec 18, 2006. Reboot:

If you were to type shutdown, it would appear here.. why some with nothing, well the case of may 21,2008 gives me the solution: I patched the box and some patches necessitated a reboot after kernel build...
But I know also that some cases I find no trace of...
