Help with booting SUN Box

Got the console cable all connected up and got tot he ok prompt.

Typed in boot cdrom and got the following:

ok boot cdrom
Boot device: /pci@8,700000/scsi@6/disk@6,0:f File and args:
ERROR: /packages/deblocker: Last Trap: Corrected ECC Error
Can't read disk label.
Can't open disk label package

Can't open boot device

ok

Alias shows:

cdrom /pci@8,700000/scsi@6/disk@6,0:f

Any suggestions?

It seems to me that you have an issue with cdrom
or the scsi termination not terminated properly
but i'm not sure please make extra sure

reset-all at the OBP and try again. If failed, try using a different dvd.

I tried the reset-all option. No luck. Tried 4 DVDs, no luck. I'm thinking the DVD Rom is bad. It's a scsi drive and I don't have another.

You are probably right that it is a bad dvd drive. However, check to make sure that alias is pointing to the dvd correctly in case that is the problem. Try "probe-scsi-all" at the OK prompt.

Here's a link with a brief outline of that command.

If you're lucky, maybe your alias is wrong and fixing it will solve your problem.
