Hi,

I'm looking to run Sun Solaris 8 or 9, but have been running windows :mad: .can anyone give me advice about the hardware needed for solaris and possably any software i may need, the type of model and where i may be able to buy these within the uk. :confused:

If you are looking for a sparc machine to try out, you can get something pretty cheap on Ebay.

Blade workstations are pretty cheap on Ebay. Add your own IDE drive to this one and install Solaris :slight_smile: . A working system for under $100US

ok, cheers, these do look a bit slow, i'm wanting to replace my windows box, is it possable to do?
