Hardware: passively cooled graphics card on Xubuntu 23.04

Ever since I swapped out my actively cooled, high-pitched graphics card for a passively cooled one, I am seeing the following behavior:
1- Computer randomly logs out and shows login screen every couple of minutes. Given that this is not a reboot, what is this behavior called?
2- When plugging in keyboard/mouse/HDMI-monitor once a day, it is rare for the screen to show an image. The only remedy I found so far is a reboot. I am guessing this is also related to the graphics card being passively cooled (despite not having been used for 24 hours), but is there a Xfce-setting that would help to resolve this?

CPU: Intel Core i5-8600K, air cooled, temps in normal range.
OS: Xubuntu 23.04 with latest updates installed.
Computer is under load 24/7.

You don't say exactly what card your new graphics card is. Is it Nvidia??

If so, there might be known issues with the graphics driver.

It is Nvidia indeed:

       product: GK208B [GeForce GT 710]
       vendor: NVIDIA Corporation

More importantly, since downgrading to Xubuntu 22.04 and closing the Transmission torrenting tool, things seem to be working without issue again. I will keep the pointer in mind, though the description of their problem seems different: they suffered an actual freeze.
