Front end on Unix

Hi,

I would like to develop a user interface on Solaris. Can anybody throw some light on currently available software utilities/ packages..?

Thanks in Advance ..

By 'user interface' I am assuming you mean some kind of window manager. Sun released a test version of GNOME 1.4 for Solaris 8 which is quite customisable, and might be a starting point. Check out http://www.sun.com/gnome/getgnome14.html and http://www.gnome.org for more information.

Just a mere fraction of what's available...

Sun SPARCstations running Solaris 2.x

 X -- MIT X-Windows version 11 release 5
gnu -- GNU packages, such as gzip, gcc, g\+\+, etc.
 infosys -- information utilities \(gopher, mosaic, etc.\)
openwin -- SUN OpenWindows for Solaris 2.3
 openwin3.4 -- SUN OpenWindows for Solaris 2.4
 tcl -- TCL 7.3 & TK 3.6 \(with X extensions\)

rwb1959,

I had created some widgets using Tcl/Tk.

Is it possible to convert those widgets in an Executable package.

I am working in HP Unix Workstation.

To be honest, I don't know. :frowning:

Perhaps one of you Tcl/Tk guru's out there
can answer this...
