Filesystem for Linux - Solaris

Do you know how I can find detailed
information on filesystems on Linux and
Solaris. And I mean not only for the OS but and how it(the OS) uses the hard drives!

Thank you in advance!!
Solid Snake;)

Hi,

You can check here for detailed Solaris filesystem information:

http://www.solarisinternals.com/si/reading/sunworldonline/swol-05-1999/swol-05-filesystem.html

For Linux, it depends on what type of filesystem you want to know about...
For ext2fs:

http://e2fsprogs.sourceforge.net/ext2intro.html

For ext3fs:

For reiserfs:

http://www-106.ibm.com/developerworks/library/l-fs.html

and there's more... JFS, etc...

Thanks, your info were quite helpful!
