Anyone else notice Fedora Core 2 (both 2.6.5 and .8 kernels) hang, specifically when running konqueror? I notice a lot of HD activity, but by the time I can switch to a shell to use top it's over.
I'm running (slackware-current) kernels; 2.4.27 and 2.6.7 with KDE 3.3.1 and Gnome 2.6. I had used 2.6.8.1, but there is a bug with that kernel that does not work well with K3b.
Other than that bug, I had not seen any issues with the 2.6.8 kernel.
In the Slackware camp, there is not an Official 2.6.x series kernel, the 2.6 .x is still seen as just for testing.
I have not noticed any increase/decrease in performance between either branches. They both boot-up about the same time, I do not see any performance increase from the 2.6.7 kernel over the 2.4.27.
Is there a 2.4.2x kernel you can install to see if the 2.6.x kernels are really the issue?
