expiry date of an account

can an user see the expiry date of its own account, also can the user know whether it is having peer access or not.

Thanks,
Megh

What OS is this? Linux chage command will show the value, for example. Each OS is somewhat different.

Please define what you mean by peer access. File permissions?

Assuming the question is about Solaris, given the fact it is posted in this very forum, the command would be passwd -s username

Some notes though:

  • you generally need to be root to run this command
  • accounts do not expire, only passwords (might)
  • depending on the password back-end, the password expiration date might not be displayed

No idea about what "having peer access" means too.
