Does anyone have any suggestions on how to estimate the size of a savevg file taking into account an exclude file?
Trying to integrate this feature into an existing ksh script.
Have you done any research wrt VG in the six documentation?

Yea. I’ve looked into syntax for the relevant AIX commands and none of them take the exclude file into account.
hi, which commands specifically have you looked at - help us out be stating ... I've read xxxx , tried command X/Y/Z etc so we get some insight into what's been already covered, ie - help us help you by sharing 
can you get the size(s) of the volumes and the amounts used then subtract the size of the excluded file(s) from that , will that not give you the size of the savevg ? (or is this being too naive ? )
