Enlightenment 0.26 and compiz

Hi.

I figured out how to get Compiz working with Enlightenment. Just simply put compiz --replace & in your .xinitrc before calling Enlightenment (exec enlightenment_start).

But, i'm having a problem with my secondary monitor. It works fine, but the actual desktop does not display. There's just a black screen.

Anyone know what i'm doing wrong? Maybe xrandr needs to be used?

Thank you.

Compiz is not maintained so much these days.
There is Wayfire, which seems to be getting commits and works with Wayland.

In any case, have you tried issuing xrandr command and see results ?

When connected issue a :

xrandr -q

This will display connected display devices, then issue a xrandr command and make a second/clone/above whatever.

I'm sorry i cannot help you further since i'm using Wayland, and my exp. doing Compiz/Beryl is decade+ old, and it seems like a (mostly) dead project.
Also X is mostly history nowadays, so knowledge you get might already be out of date.

But i did love back in the days when no other windows manager existed with such fancy stuff

Even have a video showcase of my desktop 16 years ago which worked quite fluid.

Regards
Peasant.

I can't execute xrandr -q for some reason.
When, I do try to execute it, I get this error:

Can't open display :0

this may help
