E1 Link Terminating on Solaris Box

Hi,

I have multiple boxes connected using some RAD Routers and these RAD routers are not working as per our expectations. The Data transfer is negligible and speed of connectivity.

I need to check if I can directly terminate an E1 cable connection to my Solaris Box excluding a Router device. The Routing Device we have received is immature and we have less expertise to enable routing on these boxes.

The E1 cable terminates into BNC male connectors and then we connect it to an ethernet port of the solaris via balanced Y-cable (i.e female BNC connectors on one side and RJ45 on the other end). Now the question is that what setup should be used to communicate to another Solaris box on both ends of the E1 link.

Regards,
Nasir

Is an E1 an back to back 1 G ethernet cable or ??? Just to get RAD to Solaris without going through local net? Y cable sounds like an unterminated end. Or are we talking phone co side lines, like the old T1/T3? Does not seem so Solaris or IP!
