doubt in Solaris CDE

Hi all,

I have a couple of doubts with Solaris CDE(i use 2.6)

  1. Is it possible to customize my mouse pointer in the CDE environment? im wondering how i can change the mouse pointer, say to a different bitmap or something like that.?

  2. Is it possible to use a jpeg as a backdrop?

Thanks in advance

Yes there is a way to use a wallpapper in your CDE if CDE is complete installed perhaps there is an application call Xview with this tool you can install a jpg or jpeg into your workspace, this tool its possible to be freeware. Just look for it.

Thanks alex, ill try it out.

Hi alex,
I saw "man xview" but couldnt understand most part of it.
please help.

Thanks

Where did you got it XV? It was a freeware or you have a CD set, I mean it aint installed in my WS due a disk change & upgrade so if I installed again I can help you.:cool:

once you've installed xv you called it
$ xv &

then with mouse right button click the presentation image of xv this will display a menu then left-click on "load" choose the image to use for Wallpapper and then go to the button "Root" and choose the kind of view you want (centered, tilde, etc) after it you'll get a wallpapper in your WS.:cool:
