I have a memory card of my Nokia N73 attached to laptop. There are a few partitions.
Why all partitions behave differently? As clear from the attachments, for some partition, delete option is disabled. See 'Disk 1' which is my memory card.
Here, patition 'G' (CHECK), i created in windows. The partions of 21 and 50 MB is created in Linux.
The one with 1.79 GB, I deleted here in windows and its showing as unallocated. There are no options for this partition enabled like format,etc. How to make it free and merge with other partition. How to use unallocate space.
Why only partition G can be opened/accessed in windows and not others?
I guess you use an USB adapter for your card, and it is recognized as a "removable device".
On removable devices, Windows recognizes/accepts only the partition in the first partition table slot.
You can try and find tools to reset the "removable" bit in your card/card controller, or you can install a foreign disk driver to deal with all partitions...

Do you mean windows is not recognizing it as USB?
On removable devices, windows recognizes that way. What about other device like USB or flash drive.
What about Gparted s/w! Will it deal with all the partitions?
You told foreign disk driver, what is it? I hope Gparted is a sofware application and not a disk driver.
gparted is a linux tool; it will deal with all the partitions, allowing to manage them (create, delete, resize, etc.).
Windows recognizes USB thingies; cameras as cameras or drives, disk drives as disk drives with all their partitions, but memory sticks and flash drives it will identify as "removable" devices allowing just one partition.
Search the net for "windows disk driver" and "USB flash drive"; I don't have it at hand but I know of a driver or two that can be told to ignore the "removable" bit thus allowing access to all partitions,
Please have a look again at the attachment in my earlier post. YOu told windows recognizes the hard disk with all its partitions. Now in the attachment you see the diff. partitions on hard disk with the name C and D. "Format , extend volume" options are disabled in C but not in D. Why so please?
I can't see a "Format , extend volume" option neither in C nor in D in your pictures. If that were so, I'd guess it's because C is the system drive...?

yes C drive may be system drive
