Difference between Maestro and Cron job

Hi,
I have to setup a process which will run every 30 minutes and perform a task. I have been looking into and considered to put a cron job in place which will automatically execute the process.

But lately I have found that Maestro job is also a process which will allow me to do the same. I am confused as to which one to use and which has more advantages.

Can some one please guide me through as to which process is better and will help be perform the task better.

regards
Prashanth

For simple scheduling of jobs with very few servers, you can schedule the jobs/scripts using cron, which has to be configured in each of the server.

If the scheduling involves many jobs spread across many unix/windows servers, Maestro or Control-M are the good tools to handle with.

For really large applications, running across a large lan, AppWorx is a very good choice. It is not free

Ofcourse they are same in their objective and different in their style of application
