Hallo
I have just installed Debian and was wondering how to install the GUI(GNOME)
I am totally new to Linux, so I don't know what almost anything is....
Any help would be appreciated

If you selected and installed the gnome packages during installation, have you tried logging in and issuing the "startx" command at the prompt?

Run the command as root:
apt-get install gnome
