Saleslady: Sir, that VCR is really aimed towards the professional videographer....
Me: Don't worry about it. I learn fast and I enjoy learning. That is the model I want.
Saleslady: OK. You're the customer.

Eh, don't worry about it.
I've seen your posts before.
By Wednesday you'll have attached the thing to a Unix box and written scripts to make it do everything a normal VCR does and wash your car.
Maybe, but I have had the VCR for several years so far.
I understand 95% of it and I do far more with it than any consumer VCR can do. I even think that stunt I've worked out would surprise the folks that designed it.
But that final 5% has eluded me so far. I've been using home theatre equipment for a long time. But I don't know what the DC component of a chroma signal is. Nor a CTL signal. And I especially don't understand why I would want to superimpose anything on my chroma signal. Oh well....
Does that 5% include fixing the flashing 12:00 on the display???
