Guys i used to the black background in BSD, now im using Sun Solairs, how can i change the background and font colors in console ?, i heard about setterm but i didnt get the right syntax, any ideas ?
The answer depends to a certain extent on the particular terminal and window manager you are using.
In Gnome/JDS you can do it from the terminal menu. In CDE I can't remember, but I think the simplest way to get it to work the way you like is to create an Xdefaults file.
Man, im talking about the console before i get the Window manager, lets say i turn on the box and i receive the console login request and i type root

now im in a console before the window manager try to run or anything i want to change the bg gray and the fg black settings, got it ?
I think u change it in .profile for that system.
