Cluster?

hey we doing a clean up here at work and throwing out all the old PC's. Not the best like 300Mhz or around there they are.

I've grab a few since I would like to teach myself how to cluster! Only one thing. I got no idea where to start.

I know do a search on google etc. But I was wondering if anyone knew of a helpful website that would be good to learn from? I'm only asking for people to suggest a website so I don't be lost among all the google websites and confused once I've been looking and reading so much different stuff.

Cheers and thanks in advance for the help

A thread on Clustering was already started, and you can find that thread here.

And there are similar related threads existing on the board, just use the search feature at the upper right side of the site.

Clustering is such a broad term. Do you want to create a compute cluster (like a super computer) or do you want to build a high availability (HA) cluster (one node goes down but services are still available)? Which linux do you plan to use? Is there a specfic cluster application you want to learn, like Oracle RAC?

Knowing these answers will help point you to sites more specific to your goal.

It really depends on the type of cluster you want to build and what you are going to use it for.
