Can't open boot device

I installed a new hard drive completely blank.

sun blade 150
openboot 4.10.6

message:

Can't open boot device

This is expected behavior if the new disk doesn't contain valid boot information. You should install Solaris there, using CD/DVD.

You can write a valid Sparc disk label in format .

have solaris 8 installation cd.

boot cdrom

cannot open boot device.

Try:

boot /pci@1f,0/ide@d/cdrom@1,0:f

If it doesn't work then try:

boot /pci@1f,0/ide@d/cdrom@2,0:f

with boot /pci@1f,0/ide@d/cdrom@1,0:f,

i get the following attachments

with boot /pci@1f,0/ide@d/cdrom@2,0:f,

i get the following attachment

boot /pci@1f,0/ide@d/cdrom@1,0:f tried to load the system from CD, but it failed. Where did you get that Solaris 8 CD?

bought from ebay. solaris 8 with install cd and 1 and 2

solaris 8

Maybe that Solaris release is too old, and does not support the Blade150 hardware?
