This is expected behavior if the new disk doesn't contain valid boot information. You should install Solaris there, using CD/DVD.
You can write a valid Sparc disk label in format

tried to load the system from CD, but it failed. Where did you get that Solaris 8 CD?
bought from ebay. solaris 8 with install cd and 1 and 2

Maybe that Solaris release is too old, and does not support the Blade150 hardware?
