I would be extremely grateful for any help on the following matter.
Under AIX 5.1 and for years I have been using perfectly well a USB 3.5" disketted drive. But since yesterday, after a power failure disconnected my e-server, I have been unable to use the drive. Whatever <operation> I try to execute, let it be "dosread", "dosdir" or "restore" from a backup diskette, I always get:
<operation> 054-158 Cannot open /dev/rfd0: there is a request to a device or address that does not exist.
When I enter:
lsdev -C
The answer is:
fd0 is defined
When I enter:
lscfg -v
The answer is:
fd0 is not listed
When I enter:
mkdev -l fdo
The answer is:
Method error. 0514-031 A device is already configured ....
