I did a search but could not find this.I have some bff images of AIX 5.3 and VIOS as well on my windows laptop. I need to create their iso images so that I could load them onto the lpars.
I cant ftp/scp etc these images to the box.
I also cant copy them to CD and mount them on the AIX to create iso images.
At this point the only option I have is to try and convert them to iso on my windows box but am not sure how.
How would that work? Any specific software that I could use?
As I understand it a BFF isn't a disk image, just a package file, so if you burn it as a CD containing a .bff file, AIX ought to be able to use the CD.
I cant ftp at this point...basically the box has no lpars on it...added it to HMC but is now stuck at BA210000 - default catch. Trying to figure out how to fix that...but once done, want to install 5.3 on it and I only have bff images on my windows laptop. Need to burn an ISO image is my understanding. I thought a bff image is only bootable from a disk(or tape). Maybe I am not understanding this ISO process correctly.
