Basic VI tricks

I found a decent guide of VI basic tricks. This guide does expect you to have a decent understanding of VI. It does not go over very much beginner related.

vi Manual

The best way to start learning vi is vimtutor (this is shell command). Yes, you should have vim, but you can install it almost everywhere including Windows.

For an educational entity, you'd think they'd spell "cancelling" correctly on that page.

The author did. "Cancelling" and "canceling" are both valid spellings. If I'm not mistaken, it's primarily an American/British variation.

Should you feel inclined to debate this at length, perhaps it would be best to start a thread over in What's on Your Mind? - The UNIX and Linux Forums, "Colour vs. Color: Only One Spelling Will Survive This Match to the Death!!!"
