hai, how can i sort a file alphabetically without using sort command
do you mean the files under a directory or the content of a particular file?
The sort command is the best way to do it... why don't you want to use it?
I have merged two files and now I want records in the file to be in alphabetic order with out using sort
You are not making sense. Explain why we can't use the single most suitable tool for the job.
