Do you have an alert system? meaning when your question has been answer, could be u guys send an email, informing the question has been answer, of someone did post a reply?

Goto User CP --> Edit Options. In the Messaging and Notification section there are subscription options.
With each thread you may also find the "subscribe to thread" item which should address your need if you choose not to set it globally.
