AIX, VIOS and DS4800 SAN

Hello

I have a system with four AIX 5L V5.3 partitions and a Virtual I/O server, connected to a a DS4800 storage array.

Now the company bought another DS4800... i made raid on it... and now i wanna give LUN's to the VIOS, so i can use in one of AIX partitions...

Someone can help me?

Sorry if i miss something but im new in this!

Thanks a lot

Is your server direct attached or connected via switch (to the DS4k)? Is this a second DS4800 or is the second unit an expansion unit for the first DS?

Hi,
its connected by a SAN switch... and its another DS4800!

Hi,

you'll first have to zone the WWNs together on the san switches.
Look at this site and notice the mkvdev commands to map the disk to the vioclient POWER5 virtualization: How to set up the IBM Virtual I/O Server

Done!!
And thanks for the link.
But dont say how to give LUN's to VIOS server (or should be given to the VIOS client?)...

can advise some more reading? or explain?

Just zone the luns to the vioserver. mkvdev will map them from the vios to the vioclient. Look at 9b en 9c, everything is in the link.
