AIX Technology Level 9

Hi Guys

I am currently running AIX 5.3 technology level 6 on a 570, but want to go up to level 9.

However I am struggling to find on IBM's website the new features that it brings in, along with the commands for these new features.

Can any one help me with this?

Go the the Fix Central site and check the packaging details pages of every TL from TL 7 to TL 9 to find out what was changed. Example for TL9:
IBM Support: Fix Central
No need to follow the SP links as these are updates to the TL's files usually.

Thanks for that link. I had already found this link. But its a HUGE list, of what seems like fixes, instead of actually newly added features.

And there is no link or documentation to any new commands that would need to be used for the new technology level.

Hm, yes and no. The list is huge. But most TL filesets are about a new function/feature while the SPs are fixes. The meaning of "Add" in English should be clear but even descriptions like "NPIV PHASE 1" indicate a complete new feature that entered AIX with TL9.

For a complete release there are the AIX Differences Guides but I am not aware of that such a list exists for TLs.

IZ18032 TOPAS ENHANCEMENTS WITH NMON FUNCTION
IZ18796 TOPAS AND TOPASOUT VSCI SUPPORT
IZ11387 ADDING SUPPORT FOR TAPE AS VTD

but that depends on the hw you are using ^^

So those additions are good for you, but ten how od you find out the new commands for the new functions?

i don't think you'll see new commands for the listed features. probably updates in the man pages and a new switch or two.
