Hi, I don't know much about Aix/Unix, because I am very new in this environment. After creation the lpar partitions by hmc, how the logical, dynamic and physical drives are format, do the hmc program format the drives or how? Please... thanks.

HMC only creates the LPAR profile with an amount ofmemory, cpu and IO adapters. When installation starts, you choose a hdisk and filesystems will be automatically created by the installationproces.
There is a lot of reading material available on IBM Redbooks or preferably choose an AIX training which covers the basic setup of an AIX partition.
