AIX on VMWARE

Hello Every body,

I will receive a workstation HP, with a processor Intel corei5, with Windows already installer.

I project to install :
1)a Vmware
2)a serveur aix
3)a redhat server
... etc.

My question is :
1) What kind of vmware should I install to support installation of an AIX server on it ?
2) Where can I found a version of AIX 5 or 6, even if a paying product ?
I past a long time on IBM site, but I didn't find where we can order it ?

thank you in advance.

I suggest you checkout http://www.unix.com/aix/150099-download-aix.html#post302478567

Like buses, nothing for ages, then two come along at the same time

1) OK
2) No go
3) OK

You didn't find anything on the IBM website, because there is nothing!

Hi "mlaiti"

Unfortunately what you are attempting to do won't work. There is no VM or even VM image for AIX because IBM has designed it so it only runs on it's own power processors (not Intel x86 or 64)...you're out of luck when it comes to AIX.

With RHEL - you'll find you will be able to virtualize and run a nice VM much easier as RHEL is supported on x86 and 64 bit computing platforms.

My only suggestion to you would be ebay and buy yourself a machine (if you have the $$$$) with a power processor. That's the only architecture that runs AIX.

Hope this helps!
