I�m trying to configure the ftp service (port 21) in a Red Hat Enterprise 4 from xinetd.
Anybody have done this?

which FTP daemon are you using? vsftpd or proftpd?
I�m have not choossed any.
what is the recommended?

use vsftpd. It is the 'default' one. It is not run out of xinetd. /etc/init.d/vsftpd start/ stop
