I have ALOM working on our V440 server but is there a way to get ILOM working on this server?
how do you know it's not working?

I can get to the SC> prompt.

or how can I use the web browser to see the configuration?

Well its used for accessing the OK propmt from remote location!!
If its for test env then may be you can break it to go to OK prompt like below
SC> showenvironmnet
and many more
ALOM is different from ILOM
ILOM is newer and you also have https access.
I am not sure but i think V440 does not support ILOM.

You are correct. V440 has ALOM.
After searching the web, came to the same result!

V440 only has ALOM.
Also, ALOM v1.5.x doesn't support SSH, therefore must upgrade to v1.6.x (latest v1.6.9) to get the If_Connection = SSH value!
