does anyone know where i can find somthing that will let me read my XP folder withing Fedora Core?
The Linux kernel can read NTFS partitions (or FAT32) created by WinXP. Please search google or this forum for related posts.
im telling u man, it can only read 2000 file system and down. it wont let me mount XP.
The kernel _CAN_ read NTFS partitions containing WinXP installations if you added the module correctly. I read and write files to and from my windows xp partition from linux often, i do believe that there was a post on this forum about how to do this properly, try checking with the search feature.
matee, im going to copy and paste what the kernel says when i try to mount it AFTER intalling ntfs support...
mount -t ntfs /dev/hda1 /winxp
mount: fs type ntfs not supported by kernel
ok i fixed it, now whenever i go to read the mounted drive all the folders are an unknown file type. how do i get it so that i can read whats in the folder?
