Hai
i want to know how many types of pakages install in solaris 10.
is there any document for it inform me. what is biniry install. when i download a samba server from net it install with pkgadd but con't run. Some one told that To run properly you must install librari files. how do i know ? give me some suggestions. in my xp pc i installed vmware 8. in vmware i installed solaris 10. i want to run all servers to testing purpose. ftp, nfs, samba, apache. guid me.
A package will have all the libraries it needs, and will install them. If you ran pkgadd and got no errors it is correctly installed. It will not work for you without configuration.
Apache is the same.
Apache and Samba are difficult to configure and get working. There is a lot of information out on the internet on how to do it. ftp is already there. nfs requires a little learning.
Samba:

Apache:

nfs:

And please note: Many of these things may require skills you might not have yet.
If you have a single, simple question we can answer it, but as to stepping you through configuring apache, nfs, and samba this forum is not the appropriate medium for that.
