SUNWspro question

i have SUNWspro lying in my /opt which is eating near 1.2g is it ok to delete it .. i do not see its reference anywhere in /var/sadm/pkg .. and for what purpose its used ?

SUNWspro contains the Sun Studio programming suite (compiler/debugger/ide/libraries and various tools).
Sun Studio C, C++ and Fortran Compilers and Tools

Just to add on, is it ok to remove the compiler packages on a system ?
How will it impact?

If you do not do C, Fortran or C++ development then you do not need SUNWspro, compiling of kernels is not needed for Solaris (thankfully!), if you use vim and xemacs you may find they are the one installed in the contrib directory as part of this.
If you are going to remove it use pkgrm to remove it properly
