whenever i try to download SP's/TL's using SUMA on my blade aix 5.3 p6 server, i get this error message each time.

ur help wud be sooo appreciated guys
Make sure you can reach that update server. We do not use SUMA but I asume this is done via internet connection so maybe check firewall/filter settings etc.
i will discuss that with the n/w admin then.. so i suppose common practice is to download the packs or TL's from fixcentral onto my workstation and ftp them to the server. yet agan,Thank you soo much for your prompt response zaxxon.
Np at all. An alternative might be maintaining a NIM server that has SPOTs with updates available. But this might be a bit more work than just downloading via SUMA.
Some network admins want both the URL and IP addresses related to it in their firewall, and the SUMA IP addresses were changed last year. You may also wish to switch the download method to http rather than ftp as Network admins are less opposed to that as a protocol (for security reasons)
Always be wary of staging fixes through a Windows PC as the case sensitivity (or lack thereof) will cause some filesets to go missing. SUMA is now Best Practice for patch and TL management, especially when used together with NIM.
Ross,
Thanks a lott for ur input. Do i need to make changes in ma aix server ----> regarding the changed urls/ip's for suma? there is no firewall in my environ as yet, cos we r in testing..
I soo understand -what u mean by missing filesets (due to upper or lower case or duplicate filenames errors) while tryin to ftp from windows to the aix server.. is a headache for sure.
Well try telneting to the 2 URLs I gave you from the AIX server to verify if they work or not, but the error suggests that you are not making contact with the fix server (first URL)
